3DS Modding: A Complete Guide for all 3DS and 2DS Models

What you need

  • MSET9 (.zip)
  • Python (You can check if you already have Python by typing python3 -V in the terminal.)
  • Optional: 3DS Modding Service (send your console to us and get it back professionally modded.)

If you encounter an error, check HERE to see what the cause might be.

1. Format your SD card to FAT32 for this (DOWNLOAD)

2. Copy the contents of MSET9.zip to your SD card.

3. Insert the SD card into your 3DS and wait until it is recognized. Then insert it back into your PC.

4. Double-click the file for your system.

5. A window will open; enter the number that belongs to your system and then press Enter.

6. In the window that opens next, press 1 and then Enter.

7. Press 1 again, then Enter. Press Enter once more to close the window.

8. Now reinsert the SD card into your console and follow the video below. (The videos have no sound.)

9. Reinsert the SD card into the PC and repeat steps 4 and 5.

10. Press 3 and then Enter.

11. Then press Enter again to close the window.

12. Now insert the SD card back into your 3DS and follow the video below.

13. Reinsert the SD card into the PC and repeat steps 4 and 5.

14. In this window, press 4, then Enter.
Then 5 Then Enter
Then press Enter again to close the terminal.

15. Reinsert the SD card into your console and follow the video below to complete the tutorial.
